Producer Andrew Lazar has confirmed that the very long-gestating “Akira” remake is still alive. Out promoting the Viola Davis-led “G20” film, he tells Moovy TV that: “You can expect an update in the next couple of months”.

At last report Taika Waititi was set to direct the project based on the celebrated anime which is set in the wake of the third World War. It follows the leader of a biker gang in Neo-Tokyo as he tries to save his friend from a medical experiment.

Superman
DC Studios has announced a June 3rd release date for “Superman: Welcome to Metropolis,” a prequel junior novel to the upcoming “Superman” movie opening in July. Peacock has confirmed a July 31st premiere date for the second season of its hit action comedy series “Twisted Metal” based on the PlayStation video game franchise.

In the new season John (Anthony Mackie) and Quiet (Stephanie Beatriz) find themselves entering the deadly Twisted Metal tournament, a sinister demolition derby hosted by a mysterious man known as Calypso (Anthony Carrigan). As they try to survive, things get complicated when John reunites with his long-lost sister – the vigilante Dollface (Tiana Okoye).
