Nintendo Switch Action Adventure Game Headed to PS5

Italian developer Caracal Games and publisher Dear Villagers have announced the open-world hoverboard game Star Overdrive is coming to PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC in just a couple of months.

Star Overdrive is coming to PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC on June 19. Players interested in the game can preorder today on each platform’s respective digital marketplace for $34.99. The Deluxe Edition is $39.99, which includes 3 styles, 1 design, and 50 dyes for the Hoverboard, the digital original soundtrack, and a digital manga that serves as a prequel to the game.

To celebrate Star Overdrive’s upcoming availability on other platforms, as well as its accolades, a new trailer was released. Check it out below:

“After receiving a mysterious distress signal, you’ll embark on a daring adventure through an alien world, uncovering secrets hidden in its depths,” reads the game’s description. “Ride your stylish Hoverboard to traverse stunning landscapes filled with alien structures, from scorching sands to wavy waters, each testing your traversal skills to the limit.”

Additionally, Caracal Games is currently working on updating the game based on feedback from its players. A date for the patch was not given, but it does state it will implement the update “as soon as possible” and add it to the PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC versions ahead of release.

Star Overdrive just recently launched for the Nintendo Switch this month. When it was released, it was met with some mixed reviews. According to review aggregate site Metacritic, it garnered an average score of 68 across 19 critic reviews.

For players who just cannot wait to play Star Overdrive, it is available on the Nintendo Switch right now. Those who are unsure if they want to commit to the $35 purchase can download the demo for free on Nintendo’s console.
