Katy Perry has kicked off her ‘Lifetimes’ tour, although it seems some fans are not too impressed with the level of choreography.

The live shows kicked off in Mexico City on Wednesday night (April 23) – one week after the pop star divided fans with her 11minute venture into space.

Taking place at the Arena CDMX, the live show came in celebration of Perry’s comeback album ‘143’, and saw her break out hits from across her career. However, some footage of the live set has been going viral for the wrong reasons it seems, as fans have begun making light of the choreography.

According to fan footage from the night, it seems that the show is based around a virtual reality concept, and sees Perry as a half-human half-machine, fighting off a looming AI enemy called ‘The Mainframe’.

The performances of each song show the pop star tackling the threat in different ways, and the narration at the start of the show reportedly explains that she is trying to defeat it as it has stolen the world’s butterflies and turned dogs against humans (via Consequence).

Not all fans were impressed with the choreographed elements of the show though, with some of the more lacklustre moments going viral across social media.
