The Immaculate soundtrack is available on vinyl from Terror Vision Records in partnership with Lakeshore Records.
The score is pressed on Blood Red colored vinyl and housed in a gatefold jacket with liner notes by composer Will Bates (I Origins, “The Magicians”). Priced at $28.98, it’s expected to ship in June.
“Bates’ score is rooted with utilizing instruments traditionally associated with religious settings. These instruments, with their ancient tones, were then woven into the film’s score, creating an atmosphere that feels both timeless and eerily otherworldly,” Terror Vision writes.
“It’s difficult not to see the parallels of Bates’ work and the iconic scores of Italian horror maestros like Goblin, Fabio Frizzi, Riz Ortolani, Bruno Nicolai, and Stelvio Cipriani. However, Bates’ score stands out by blending traditional choral elements with avant-garde instrumentation, creating a unique auditory experience that is both familiar and unsettling.”
In the religious horror film, devout American nun Cecilia embarks on a new journey in a remote convent in the picturesque Italian countryside. Cecilia’s warm welcome quickly devolves into a nightmare as it becomes clear her new home harbors a sinister secret and unspeakable horrors.
Michael Mohan directs from a script by Andrew Lobel. Sydney Sweeney stars with Álvaro Morte, Benedetta Porcaroli, Dora Romano, Giorgio Colangeli, and Simona Tabasco.
