It seems that Hilton has started frequently devaluing its points, with the most recent one occurring less than six months ago (read more here).
Previously, the points cap was 150,000 points per night, but that has now been lifted to 200,000 points that is rather significant.

Here are some award prices I checked:
Waldorf Astoria Los Cabos Pedregal
The standard award pricing here suddenly is 190,000 points per night.
Waldorf Astoria Maldives Ithaafushi
The Waldorf Astoria in the Maldives is now 200,000 points per night.
Other Maldives Hotels
There have been significant points raises at other Maldives properties as well.
Waldorf Astoria Seychelles Platte Island
The Waldorf Astoria in Seychelles is now 150,000 points per night.
Conclusion
The points cap was set at 95K not that long ago, but it is now already 200K.
My issue with Honors is that it is an awful program for “standard” awards. You can only find “value” at these really nice, high-end hotels, but their award pricing is starting to be out of reach for the majority of program members.
I burned roughly 1M points last year for a stay at Conrad Bora Bora Nui, but I have 3M sitting on my account right now. I had a reservation for the Waldorf Astoria Seychelles for January this year, but I ended up cancelling it because I decided that I would rather spend the time elsewhere.
These programs should give members advance notice about possible award chart changes, as these no-notice devaluations are not loved.
