Over a year since the release of Chapter 2, developer Buckshot Software and Retrovibe have completed the final chapter for their retro FPS Project Warlock II. Available now (though the game is still in Early Access), Chapter 3 introduces the campaign of Kirsten, an unorthodox Warlock Disciple whose combat style combines destructive firepower with dark magic.
As a demon born from hellfire, Kirsten’s abilities as a summoner open up avenues to conjure demonic minions, or even manipulate death itself. Her compelling backstory reveals an experimental creation intended to turn evil into good – a promise that ultimately failed as her demonic nature overpowered her efforts to control dark urges.
Players will have 12 new levels to explore in Chapter 3 of Project Warlock II, featuring a mix of lush landscapes, alien-infested spaceships, and cosmic anomalies, each with its own set of challenges to overcome. Speaking of enemies, expect to face a variety of new monstrosities, ranging from cybernetic war machines to eldritch horrors, all with distinct attack patterns. Luckily, you’ll have access to 12 new weapons, along with Kirsten’s three spells, each having two additional upgrades.
Buckshot hasn’t forgotten about the previous chapters, however. They’ve circled back to Chapter 1 and added Arenas to its levels, complementing the Arenas found in Chapters 2 and 3, and bringing Pamer’s campaign up to speed, ensuring a consistent experience across the entire game.
The update also brings about the usual bugfixes and tweaks, which you can check out in detail from the game’s Steam News page.
The team is not done with development, as Chapter 3 marks a new milestone in Project Warlock II, with “much more in store.” No word on specifics, but fans can expect “surprises, features, and improvements” in the coming months.
