Fiio SNOWSKY Anytime headphones boast Y2K aesthetics, powerful sound, and lightweight design

Fiio is well known in audiophile circles as a reliable Chi-fi brand for quality IEMs at a very alluring price tag. The Chinese maker has recently forayed into the over-ear headphone market with good feedback from early adopters who loved the soundstage and detail of the planar magnetic headphones. Now, Fiio has revealed the SNOWSKY Anytime wireless headphones, inspired by the Y2K design aesthetics. These on-ear headphones have a retro-futuristic appeal reminiscent of the 2000s, fused with the classy metallic finish of the cans and the headband.

You won’t find a classy-looking headphone that packs punchy audio and soundstage, making the SNOWSKY Anytime. Weighing just 155 grams, the headphones are comfortable for extended listening sessions thanks to the skin-friendly soft earpads and the headband with 3D flexible adaptive hinges with minimal clamping pressure. Do keep in mind they are still on-ear headphones that tend to put pressure on the ears when listened to for longer durations. However, the cans are ideal for social butterflies who want to stamp a style statement in the crowd, given they are available in titanium gold, black, and pink colorways.

The Bluetooth 5.4 headphones come with high-quality 40mm drivers in each cup, tuned to deliver crisp audio and a wide soundstage. The latest Bluetooth standard ensures lower power consumption and reduced latency for an optimized listening experience. You can connect two devices simultaneously with the headphones and expect a stable signal even in very heavy interference environments. The 500mAh battery ensures you get 58 hours of playback with ANC off and 38 hours with ANC on from the headphones. They can be fully recharged in two hours, but it is not yet clear if they support fast charging. For gamers, the Fiio SNOWSKY Anytime is a good bet as it comes with a game mode to further reduce the latency to 60ms.

Anytime headphones come with tactile buttons for pairing, toggling the playback modes, or cycling between the ANC modes. The game mode can be turned on by pressing the ANC button twice, so Fiio has figured out the smooth operation without having to go back and forth on the compatible app. The supported codecs for the headphones include SBC and AAC, so purist music lovers will miss the inclusion of the high-res LDAC codec. Clearly, Fiio is not trying to compete with the likes of Sony, Bose, or Apple – rather targeting Gen-Z who prefer cool looks, impressive audio, and of course an affordable price tag for the accessories they buy.

Fiio SNOWSKY Anytime headphones are a good deal for the specifications and features on offer. They can be bought from Aliexpress for $39 to $69 right away, and will also be available on Fiio’s official store on Amazon. Starting May 1, the headphones will be 40 percent pricier owing to tariff wars between the US and China.
