Tickets are on sale now for psychological thriller Hurry Up Tomorrow, and Lionsgate has released fiery new images ahead of the film’s release.
Hurry Up Tomorrow releases exclusively in theaters on May 16.
In Hurry Up Tomorrow, “A musician plagued by insomnia is pulled into an odyssey with a stranger who begins to unravel the very core of his existence.”
Directed by Trey Edward Shults (Waves, It Comes at Night), the upcoming thriller stars Abel Tesfaye (The Weeknd), Jenna Ortega, and Barry Keoghan. Trey Edward Shults & Abel Tesfaye & Reza Fahim wrote the screenplay.
While Abel Tesfaye has acted in recent projects including Uncut Gems and the HBO series “The Idol,” the upcoming movie notably marks the singer’s feature debut on the big screen.
The new movie will be an extension of The Weeknd’s sixth studio album of the same title that debuted in January, which will stand alongside the film’s score by The Weeknd and Daniel Lopatin. The album, Hurry Up Tomorrow, is now available to stream/download. You can also watch the music video for the new single “Open Hearts” now. The project also represents the conclusion to The Weeknd’s artistic trilogy, completing the journey that began with albums After Hours and Dawn FM.
Hurry Up Tomorrow has been rated “R” for “language throughout, drug use, some bloody violence and brief nudity.”
Check out the new images below, which seems to suggest Jenna Ortega’s character might be a femme fatale in Tesfaye’s surreal psychological odyssey.
