Ethel Cain announces new LP ‘Willoughby Tucker, I Will Always Love You’ & tour
Ethel Cain’s second release of the year arrives in August, and she begins her tour with 9million the same month.
Ethel Cain started the year by releasing the mostly ambient/noise/drone Perverts, and she’s now announced another new album! Willoughby Tucker, I Will Always Love You, which she’s calling her sophomore album, is due out in August, and a press release describes it as a prequel to Preacher’s Daughter. You can see the cover art below. That’s all the details we have about it now, but stay tuned.
Ethel has also announced a tour for the album, beginning with a North American run in August and September, and followed by shows in Europe and the UK in October and November. She’ll be joined by Toronto shoegazers 9million for the shows, featuring her collaborator Matthew Tomasi, and she calls them “the greatest band to ever do it.” See all dates below.
The tour includes a NYC show at Radio City Music Hall on September 9, and a Brooklyn show at Kings Theatre on September 10. Tickets to all dates go on sale Friday, March 28 at 10 AM local, with various presales starting Wednesday, March 26 at 10 AM local.
Preacher’s Daughter, Ethel’s fantastic 2022 debut album, comes out on vinyl for the first time on April 4; it’s available for pre-order now in the BV shop.
