CBS is reportedly in early discussions for a procedural series that will follow Luke Grimes’ Kayce Dutton character from “Yellowstone” in what is effectively a major network spin-off of the now-finished Paramount Network juggernaut.

Plot specifics of the new show are under wraps and no deals are in place currently, but the new show would be produced by MTV Entertainment Studios as opposed to CBS Studios.

It would mark the latest spin-off of “Yellowstone” following the prequels “1883” and “1923” on Paramount+ and the currently untitled Cole Hauser and Kelly Reilly-led spin-off also currently in the works.

The Michelle Pfeiffer-led ‘sister’ series “The Madison” is also on the way for airing this year.

Grimes has played the role of Kayce Dutton since the first season of “Yellowstone” and was last seen selling the Yellowstone Dutton Ranch to Thomas Rainwater and the Broken Rock Indian Reservation for dirt cheap – though he retained a section of the ranch on which to live with his family.

His job in the series was that of a livestock commissioner which could come into play in the procedural drama spin-off.
