Animals
Steven Yeun and Kerry Washington have joined the cast of Ben Affleck’s next directorial effort “Animals” at Netflix. Washington will play Affleck’s character’s wife, while Yeun will play a campaign manager. Gillian Anderson also stars in the film penned by Connor McIntyre and Billy Ray.

The crime thriller stars Affleck as a mayoral candidate whose son is kidnapped. Surrounded by plenty of enemies, political and otherwise, he and his wife have no choice but to get their hands dirty in order to save their son. Filming begins in Los Angeles this coming April. [Source: THR]

Good Sex
Natalie Portman has signed on for the lead role in the romantic comedy film “Good Sex” – her first rom-com since “No Strings Attached” in 2011. Golden Globe winner Lena Dunham pens and directs the film.

Portman plays a successful couples therapist who gets out of a decade-long failed relationship and is pushed back into the hopeless New York dating scene. She finds herself dating two very different men – a twenty-something Brooklyn hipster and a successful 50-something Manhattan man – and must decide which direction to go with her life. Wild Game
Miles Teller (“Top Gun: Maverick”) and Casey Affleck (“The Instigators”) have signed on for the leading roles in the manhunt thriller film “Wild Game” to shoot this Spring. The film will be written, directed, and produced by Jason Hall (“American Sniper”).

In the film, a fish and game officer joins a routine poacher arrest in the Black Rock Desert. A deadly encounter with a renegade propels the man into a relentless quest for vengeance – is this justice or obsession? [Source: Deadline]

Butterfly Jam
Barry Keoghan (“Saltburn”) and Riley Keough (“Mad Max: Fury Road”) are in talks for “Beanpole” director Kantemir Balagov’s first English-language feature “Buttefly Jam”.

The script deals with a tight-knit U.S. community of Circassian immigrants and a complicated relationship between a father and son. Balagov directed the pilot of HBO’s “The Last of Us” but left the project partway through, with about 40% of that pilot used in the final cut. [Source: Variety]

New Years Rev
Mason Thames (“The Black Phone”), Ryan Foust (“The Goldfinch”), Kylr Coffman, Jenna Fischer and Angela Kinsey will star in “New Years Rev” which is in production in Oklahoma. The comedy road trip movie is set in the 1990s and follows three friends who journey to L.A. with the mistaken belief they’re opening for Green Day. [Source: Coming Soon]
