Boba Fett Fights Anakin Skywalker in a Deleted Scene From STAR WARS: THE CLONE WARS
There’s a epic fight in the Star Wars universe that fans never got to see… until now, and and it involving Boba Fett battling Anakin Skywalker. Yeah, before Boba teamed up with Vader or crossed paths with Han and Mando, he nearly took on Anakin. This moment took place in an unreleased arc from Star Wars: The Clone Wars that was recently shown at Star Wars Celebration Japan, and you can watch it below! During the 20th anniversary animation panel, Dave Filoni,Clone Wars co-creator and now Lucasfilm’s chief creative officer, treated fans to the never-before-seen clip from a shelved storyline. This was part of an arc that would’ve followed Cad Bane mentoring a young Boba Fett. Filoni explained the dynamic like if Jango Fett was Boba’s “good” father, and after his death, Cad Bane became his “bad” father. The footage kicks off with Boba zipping through the skyways of Coruscant in his jetpack, weaving through traffic. Watching from the shadows is Cad Bane, monitoring his protégé. Hot on Boba’s tail is none other than Jedi Knight Anakin Skywalker, speeding after him on a bike and trading blaster fire mid-chase. It’s a slick high-speed pursuit, full of dodges, flame blasts, and tight turns… until Boba gets clipped by a vehicle and crashes.Anakin doesn’t see the crash and speeds ahead, giving Boba a chance to retaliate. He shoots down Anakin’s bike, triggering a full-on street fight. Boba tangles Anakin with a harpoon, trips him, then goes in guns blazing.Anakin deflects the blasts with his lightsaber, Force-pushes the kid back, and assumes the fight is over, until Boba launches himself skyward and escapes. The scene ends with Anakin checking in with Mace Windu via hologram. Windu’s been injured but says he’s fine. Anakin tells him, “It was a bounty hunter. One I’m not familiar with.”It’s sounds like a cool scene featuring a cinematic, high-energy duel between two characters who will eventually work side-by-side in the Original Trilogy. And while this scene isn’t canon as it never aired, it offers a glimpse into a story we’ll never fully explore.
