Wolf Alice announce new album ‘The Clearing,’ share “Bloom Baby Bloom”
Wolf Alice are back with their first new music in three years.

Wolf Alice are back with their first new album since 2021’s very good Blue Weekend. The Clearing, their fourth album, is due out on August 29 via RCA. They wrote it in North London and recorded it in Los Angeles with producer Greg Kurstin. See the cover art below.
They’ve shared the first single, “Bloom Baby Bloom,” which is also their first new music in three years. “I wanted a rock song, to focus on the performance element of a rock song and sing like Axl Rose, but to be singing a song about being a woman,” Ellie Rowsell says. “I’ve used the guitar as a shield in the past, playing it has perhaps been some way to reject the ‘girl singer in band’ trope, but I wanted to focus on my voice as a rock instrument so it’s been freeing to put the guitar down and reach a point where I don’t feel like I need to prove that I’m a musician.”
Colin Solal Cardo directed the accompanying video, which features choreography by Ryan Heffington. Watch it below.
