Sony a7S III Firmware Update 4.00 Adds Log Shooting Mode to Display LUTs While Recording

Sony has also just announced a world’s first f/2 telephoto zoom lens with the new Sony FE 50-150mm f/2 GM lens that is quite exciting as well.

However, for fans of the Sony a7S III in particular, the big news now is going to be the firmware update version 4.00. Set to add a Log shooting mode that will allow users to shoot while displaying the monitor image of their favorite LUTs while recording, this might be the biggest news of them all.

• Allows you to add OK/NG/KEEP flags to clips during or after movie recording
• Adds a function that automatically creates still images with Shot Marks from movie frames after recordings
  • You can add a Shot Mark while shooting or playing a movie and use it as a mark for selecting, transferring, or editing the movie.
• Allows the use of Focus Magnifier and Auto Magnifier in MF while using the Bright Monitoring feature

• Fixes an issue where the Detail feature does not work when the Picture Profile is set to S-Cinetone
