PlayStation has announced an October 2nd release date for “Ghost of Yotei,” Sucker Punch Production’s sequel to 2020’s beloved “Ghost of Tsushima”.
The story unfolds in 1603, more than 300 years after the events of “Ghost of Tsushima,” in the lands surrounding Mount Yōtei – the towering peak in the heart of what was then called Ezo but is now known as Japan’s northernmost island Hokkaido.
Plot specifics were not revealed today, but a new trailer suggests a familiar premise to any fans of westerns. Here you play Atsu, a female warrior who sets her sights on taking down a gang known as the Yōtei Six.
Years ago these six – The Snake, The Oni, The Kitsune, The Spider, The Dragon, and the leader Lord Seito – slaughtered your entire family and left you for dead. Now its time to take revenge.
The standard edition of Ghost of Yōtei will cost $69.99. Players who pre-order will receive a unique in-game mask as well as a set of seven PSN avatars.
A collector’s edition will include a 71 inch replica of Atsu’s sash and a replica display edition of Atsu’s Ghost mask. There’s also a replica of the Tsuba from Atsu’s katana, foldable papercraft ginkgo tree, art cards, and a pouch of coins and instructions to play the skill game Zeni Hajiki with them.
