BABYMETAL have postponed the release of their upcoming new album ‘Metal Forth’.
The Japanese kawaii metal band were initially due to release their fifth studio record on June 13 via Capitol Records (pre-order/pre-save here). Earlier this month, they previewed the project with ‘From Me To U’ – an “intense” collaborative single with Poppy.
Taking to social media today (April 23), BABYMETAL shared a “release date change notice” with fans. They confirmed that ‘Metal Forth’ would now be arriving two weeks later than planned, on Friday June 27.
“Due to changes in the overseas release date, the domestic release date has also been changed from 2025.6.13 (Fri) to 2025.6.27 (Fri),” the statement read. Check out the post below.
In addition to ‘From Me To U’, BABYMETAL’s new LP will also contain the previous singles ‘Ratatata’ (feat. Electric Callboy) and ‘Metali!!’ (feat. Tom Morello). It’ll serve as the follow-up to 2023’s ‘The Other One’.
There’ll also be team-ups with Spiritbox, Bloodywood, Polyphia and Slaughter To Prevail. You can see the full tracklist below.
The tracklist for BABYMETAL’s ‘Metal Forth’ is:
- ‘From Me To U’ (feat. Poppy)
- ‘Ratatata’ (feat. Electric Callboy)
- ‘Song 3’ (feat. Slaughter To Prevail)
- ‘Kon! Kon!’ (feat. Bloodywood)
- ‘KxAxWxAxIxI’
- ‘Sunset Kiss’ (feat. Polyphia)
- ‘My Queen’ (feat. Spiritbox)
- ‘Algorism’
- ‘Metal!!’ (feat. Tom Morello)
- ‘White Flame’
BABYMETAL will embark on a UK and European tour next month. The trek will conclude with a huge show at London’s O2 on May 30. Poppy will be joining them on the road, as will Bambie Thug. Find any remaining tickets here (UK) and here (Europe).
The band are then scheduled to head out on a North American tour with support from Black Veil Brides, Jinjer and Bloodywood. Find any remaining tickets here.
BABYMETAL delivered a main stage slot at Download Festival 2024 last summer. During an interview with NME at the event, the group said they didn’t want to deviate too far from their roots at their forthcoming concerts.
“You know what? We haven’t changed at all,” explained Su-Metal, looking back at the band’s evolution, 10 years after their debut studio album.
“We have always been BABYMETAL, the way we are, and we still have a long way to go. [Being here now is] all thanks to everyone who supported us, whether it’s our fans, the media, staff, or even other bands we’ve met before.”
