ASCAP Promotes Nicole George-Middleton to EVP & Head of Creative Membership
George-Middleton has played a key role in signing and retaining major talent, including Cardi B, Beyoncé, Jay-Z, Victoria Monét, Lil Uzi Vert, Timbaland, Alicia Keys, and more.

Nicole George-Middleton has been promoted to executive vice president and head of creative membership at ASCAP, the organization announced Wednesday (April 23).
In her elevated role, George-Middleton will oversee songwriter, lyricist, and composer relations, reporting directly to ASCAP CEO Elizabeth Matthews and joining the organization’s senior leadership team. She will also continue to serve as executive director of The ASCAP Foundation while a successor is identified.
“Nicole is an extraordinary executive with a passion for music and an expansive vision for how ASCAP can help our creator members thrive in an increasingly complex and challenging environment,” Matthews said in a statement. “She is an innovative leader who brings an unparalleled level of tenacity, intelligence, hard work and good humor to every situation.”

Prior to ASCAP, George-Middleton served as director of business and legal affairs at Zomba Music Group and practiced entertainment law at The Middleton Law Group PC. She holds a B.A. from the University of Pennsylvania and a J.D. from Brooklyn Law School.
ASCAP represents more than one million songwriters, composers, and music publishers and reported record-breaking financials in 2024, with $1.835 billion in revenue and $1.696 billion in royalty distributions.
