Tortoise share first new song in 9 years, “Oganesson”
“Organesson” is part of a “larger work” that’s due out later this year on International Anthem.

Post-rock greats Tortoise are back with their first new music in nearly a decade. “Oganesson” was recorded in Chicago, Los Angeles and Portland as is part of a “larger work” that’s due out later this year via International Anthem. For a band known for stretching out, this is a tight 3:15, funky and jazzy, and you can listen below.
The band (Jeff Parker, Dan Bitney, Douglas McCombs, John Herndon, and John McEntire) play Knoxville’s Big Ears festival tonight, which is currently their only live date.
