What was on your bucket list when you were 13 years old? For Alex in Netflix’s new film “The Life List,” those items are the key to getting her inheritance from her mom (who you’ll definitely recognize).
Now streaming, the movie centers on Alex and her family after their matriarch, played by Connie Britton, dies. While Elizabeth made things easy on most of her kids in her will, it was her dying wish that in order for Alex to receive her inheritance, she must complete the bucket list she first wrote when she was a young teenager.
What follows is a pretty sweet adventure, leading Alex to play one-on-one with a former NBA star, step outside her comfort zone, and more.
Here’s who you’ll need to know in the film.
Alex (Sofia Carson)
Alex is the closest to her mom, but a little lost in life, prompting her mom to start Alex on the journey that is the life list. She’s played by Sofia Carson, who’ll recognize from the “Descendants” franchise, as well as previous Netflix films including “Purple Hearts,” “Feel the Beat” and more.
Elizabeth (Connie Britton)
Elizabeth mostly appears through pre-recorded videos in “The Life List,” but her performance remains incredible because she’s played by Connie Britton. She’s best known for her time on series like “Nashville” and “Friday Night Lights.”
Brad (Kyle Allen)
Brad is Elizabeth’s executor, and the one in charge of making sure Alex doesn’t receive a new video from her mother until she completes a task on the list. He’s played by Kyle Allen, who previously starred in “The Map of Tiny Perfect Things,” “West Side Story,” “The Path” and more.
Garrett (Sebastian De Souza)
Garrett is the man that Alex meets after dumping her insensitive video game creator boyfriend, and thinks might be the true love she’s looking for at the end of her list. He’s played by Sebastian De Souza, who’s appeared in “The Great,” “Skins” and more.
Samuel (José Zúñiga)
Samuel is Alex’s dad, who she’s never really been on great terms with, but who desperately wants to fix things. He’s played by José Zúñiga, who you might recognize from “Griselda” or “Physical.”
Julian (Federico Rodriguez)
Julian is one of Alex’s older brothers. He’s played by Federico Rodriguez, who you might recognize from “Past Lives,” “Will Trent,” “American Rust” and more.
Lucas (Dario Ladani Sanchez)
Lucas is Alex’s other brother, and the three of them have a complicated relationship. He’s played by Dario Ladani Sanchez, who previously starred in the “Dear Edward” TV series.
