Actor and stunt performer James Wilkinson has just revealed that he has been cast as MekaNeck in director Travis Knight’s Masters of the Universe movie. Mekaneck is the "heroic human periscope" with the ability to extend his neck to see if trouble is on the horizon. The actor shared on Instagram: "It’s official: I’m playing MekaNeck in the upcoming Masters of the Universe movie. Dreams do come true—especially the weird ones where your neck stretches 20 feet and @mattel turns you into an action figure." I always thought MekaNeck was such a hilariously silly character! While at CinemaCon, we got a behind the scenes look at the film and it teased the tone, look, and scale of it. The sizzle reel showed off practical sets, vibrant costumes, and lead actor Nicholas Galitzine stepping into full-on He-Man mode. All of the characters including Teela, Man-at-Arms, Skeletor, LockJaw, Goat-Man and more are straight out of the '80s cartoon series! They were brought to life with surprisingly faithful costumes and character designs. You can watch our footage reaction video here. The film is said to introduce Adam as an ordinary man, working "a boring office job" in the “real world.” The Masters of the Universe stories are merely tales Adam heard as a little kid.The leaked synopsis reads: “10-year-old Prince Adam who crashed to Earth in a spaceship and was separated from his magical Power Sword—the only link to his home on Eternia. “After tracking it down almost two decades later, Prince Adam is whisked back across space to defend his home planet against the evil forces of Skeletor. “But to defeat such a powerful villain, Prince Adam will first need to uncover the mysteries of his past and become He-Man: the most powerful man in the Universe!”The script was was written by Chris Butler (ParaNorman), and it builds on an earlier draft by David Callaham (Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings). Todd Black, Jason Blumenthal, Steve Tisch, and DeVon Franklin are producing. View this post on Instagram A post shared by JAMES WILKINSON (@jameswilkinsonofficial)
