Thai zombies, werewolves, killer unicorns, and, well, a woman in a yard. This week has a little something for everyone, with TEN brand new horror movies waiting for your eyeballs.

Here’s all the new horror that released March 24– March 28, 2025!

For daily reminders about new horror releases, be sure to follow @HorrorCalendar.

From director Aimee Kuge, the indie horror film Cannibal Mukbang puts a horror movie twist on the mukbang trend, and it’s now available on VOD from Jackrabbit Media.

In the new horror movie, “Shy and looking for love, Mark quickly becomes smitten with the outgoing and mysterious Ash, who somehow, much to his surprise, reciprocates the attraction. But as his feelings for her intensify, so does his unexpected submersion into Ash’s biggest love: the wild world of mukbanging. And with it, lots of bloodshed.”

April Consalo, Nate Wise, and Clay Von Carlowitz star in Cannibal Mukbang.

The film will be getting a Blu-ray release on April 22, 2025.

One Tree Entertainment’s survival thriller To Die Alone also debuted on VOD outlets this past Tuesday. Lisa Jacqueline Starrett and James Tang lead the movie’s cast.

In the film, “After suffering a terrible injury while hiking the Pacific Crest Trail, Irving must find a way to escape the woods alive and confront her inner demons with the help of a stranger.”

Here’s the full official synopsis: “The film tells the story of Irving, a reserved solo hiker, who crosses paths with Ford, a charismatic EMT, while hiking the Pacific Crest Trail. Drawn together by the wilderness, they set off toward a remote lake — but their journey takes a terrifying turn when Irving suffers a catastrophic injury while swimming. Stranded deep in the forest, with the off-season elements closing in and infection looming, the two must navigate the unforgiving terrain in a desperate fight for survival. As nature turns hostile and the odds stack against them, To Die Alone will leave you questioning: how far would you go to stay alive?”

Austin Smagalski wrote and directed this one.

War consumes all in Operation Undead, a Thai horror movie that’s now available on VOD from Well Go USA. The film blends the zombie movie with the war movie.

When a Japanese military experiment that turns men into monsters escapes containment, it’s up to an inexperienced unit of Thai soldiers to save their nation from annihilation.

Kongkiat Komesiri writes and directs Operation Undead. Nonkul, Awat Ratanapintha, Supitcha Sangkhachinda, Ararat Nimtchai, and Seigi Ohzeki star.

Taking inspiration from the classics of the found footage genre and adding in a fresh social media twist, Livestream from director Victor Soares is now available on VOD outlets.

Sarah Moliski, Nika Khitrova, Mao Sun, Anthony Moore, and Nicholas Edmunds star in Livestream. In the film, “As a team of livestreamers embark on a haunted house challenge, they quickly realize that the scares may be more real than they anticipated. With each twist and turn, they must navigate through the terror and fight to survive the night.”

Director Victor Soares previews, “We’re in an era where social media has blurred the lines between reality and entertainment. With Livestream, we take that concept to its terrifying extreme—what if the fear was real? This film taps into modern anxieties about content creation, internet fame, and the unforeseen consequences of always being live.”

Would you willingly allow yourself to be cursed? Filmmaker Liam Le Guillou dares to do this very thing in his thrilling documentary A Cursed Man, now available on VOD.

Le Guillou takes viewers into the mysterious world of dark magic and the occult to test whether the unseen forces shaping belief—and fear—are more real than we think.

The filmmaker enters the world of witchcraft: and the occult, searching for an answer to the question “Is magic real?” Seeking out some of the world’s most powerful dark magic practitioners, Le Guillou will ask the unthinkable – will they put a Curse on him?

Meeting with Witches in California, Voodoo practitioners in New Orleans, Tantrics in India, and even a Satanist Shaman in Mexico, the filmmaker exposes himself to some of the world’s darkest magic. On his Journey, Le Guillou meets with psychologists, and scientists studying the real world effects of magic and the power of belief.

As the consequences of his request begin to hit home, Le Guillou seeks out help from the very witches that warned him of his actions, forcing him to question the nature of reality in this dangerous, never-before-seen, dark social experiment…

Some secrets can unleash a beast. Shadow of the Wolf is now available on VOD.

Highlander star Christopher Lambert and The World Is Not Enough Bond girl Maria Grazia Cucinotta appear in the film with Raniero Monaco Di Lapio, Marianna Di Martino, Elisabetta De Vito, Fabrizio Vona, and Massimiliano Vado.

When Nico returns from overseas to say farewell to his ailing mother, he discovers something monstrous is happening in the small town he once called home.

As the list of grizzly murder victims begins to grow and the authorities fear the killer is a beast unlike anything they have ever seen, Nico senses a savage transformation within himself and uncovers the terrifying secret his family could never reveal.

The film is directed by Alberto Gelpi and written by Alessandro Riccardi.

The Woman in the Yard review

“Today’s the day,” The Woman in the Yard sings in the official trailer for Universal & Blumhouse’s horror film, and today is indeed the day. The film is now playing in theaters.

Jaume Collet-Serra (House of WaxOrphan, The Shallows, Carry-On) directed The Woman in the Yard from a script by first-time feature screenwriter Sam Stefanak.

Danielle Deadwyler stars as Ramona, a woman crippled by grief after she survives a car accident that takes her husband (Russell Hornsby). Seriously injured, Ramona now must care for their 14-year-old son (Peyton Jackson) and 6-year-old-daughter (Estella Kahiha), alone in her rural farmhouse. Then one day the woman takes form in their yard.

Ramona assumes the woman (Okwui Okpokwasili) is lost or demented, but as the woman creeps nearer and nearer to the house, it becomes clear she is no ordinary figure and her intentions are anything but peaceful. Now Ramona must rally to protect herself and her children from the grasp of the woman who simply won’t leave them alone.”
