CBS is scrapping plans for a third season of “After Midnight” as host Taylor Tomlinson is shifting her focus to stand-up and touring.

“Hosting ‘After Midnight’ has genuinely been the experience of a lifetime, and I’ll be forever grateful for the opportunity to be part of this incredible journey,” Tomlinson said in a statement. “Though it was an extremely tough decision, I knew I had to return to my first passion and return to stand-up touring full-time. I appreciate CBS, Stephen Colbert, the producers and the entire ‘After Midnight’ staff and crew for all the love, support and unforgettable memories.”

“I want to thank CBS for their constant support and invaluable partnership on ‘After Midnight,’ and the whole staff for their amazing dedication,” Colbert added. “While we were excited and grateful for our third season to start in the fall, we respect Taylor’s decision to return to stand-up full time.”

The talk show is scheduled to air its series finale in June. CBS will not replace the 12:30 a.m. time slot with original programming next season.

Hailing from CBS Studios, Spartina Productions and Funny or Die, “After Midnight” was a reboot of the Comedy Central game show “@midnight,” which was hosted by Chris Hardwick and ran from 2013 to 2017.

In addition to Colbert and his wife Evelyn, executive producers of “After Midnight” include Spartina Productions president Carrie Byalick, “The Late Show” executive producer Tom Purcell, Dixon Talent’s James Dixon, Funny Or Die’s Joe Farrell, Mike Farah, Whitney Hodack and Henry R. Muñoz III and “@midnight” co-creator Jason Nadler.

Co-showrunners Jack Martin and JD Amato, head writer Jo Firestone and Alexx Wells serve as co-executive producers.
