Blossom chandelier by Brand Van Egmond

Dezeen Showroom: Dutch lighting design studio Brand Van Egmond aimed to reflect the natural growth of plants in the Blossom chandelier, which is made of borosilicate glass.

Designed by the studio's founder William Brand, the Blossom chandelier shows a creative approach to bringing natural elements into interiors.

Its sculptural form represents growth from a seed, with a branching metal structure giving shape to the chandelier and circular glass diffusers representing petals or leaves.

Unveiled at lighting fair Euroluce during Milan design week, Blossom is made of mouth-blown borosilicate glass and is available in three iterations as standard – a round version that appears compact and clustered, a vertical version with the glass elements forming a slender chain, and a "sculptural object" with a structure that branches outwards.

"Just as light is a necessity for a flower to blossom, beauty is essential for an interior to truly flourish," said William Brand.

The Blossom chandelier comes in grey or satin glass as standard. Brand Van Egmond also offers full customisation in dimensions and finishes.
