Steven Yeun Joins “Last Airbender” Film

“Beef,” “Nope” and “The Walking Dead” alum Steven Yeun has joined the voice cast of the untitled animated “Avatar: The Last Airbender” film at Paramount Pictures and Nickelodeon Movies.

It’s not yet clear which of the Four Nations Yeun’s character will be from as specifics are under wraps. One possibility is he will reprise his role of Wan, the first Avatar, whom he played in “The Legend of Korra” TV series.

Eric Nam is playing Aang and Dave Bautista is voicing a villain while Dionne Quan, Jessica Matten and Román Zaragoza also lend their voices. The film is the first of a planned trilogy adaptation.

Lauren Montgomery is directing and William Mata is co-directing the film, which is based on the series “Avatar: The Last Airbender” created by Michael Dante DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko.

Maryann Garger, Latifa Ouaou, Bryan Konietzko and Michael Dante DiMartino are producing and the film is set for release on January 30th 2026.

Yeun recently wrapped production on Joe Carnahan’s “RIP,” is in cinemas now with “Mickey 17,” and lends his voice to the lead role in Amazon’s “Invincible” series which recently wrapped its third season.
