Paul Walter Hauser Says THE FANTASTIC FOUR: FIRST STEPS Will "Go Down in History" for Reigniting the MCU
As you know, Marvel movie has been going through rough patch since The Infinity Saga closed out. Recent releases haven’t connected the way they used to, and even long-time fans have started to wonder if the magic is fading. But The Fantastic Four: First Steps star Paul Walter Hauser says Marvel’s upcoming reboot might be just what the studio needs to get back on track. Hauser told The Direct: “I believe that this will go down in history as one of the ones that started a new tide of successful storytelling for the company. Sort of in the same way the Guardians of the Galaxy and Black Panther hit. They both hit in a certain way. I believe we are about to hit.”I hope he’s right! I would love nothing more than for The Fantastic Four: First Steps to be a great Marvel movie, on that will spark big excitement in fans again! The actor went on to say: “Let’s remember that Marvel is servicing a lot of folks, and they want to make a lot of entertainment for people to enjoy, and none of us are 100%. None of us hit the mark every time.”He makes a fair point, and I think we all knew that Marvel wouldn’t be able to keep up making one great film after another. They were bound to have some big stumbles, and while the MCU has stumbled before, it’s also rebounded. Hauser believes Fantastic Four: First Steps has that kind of potential.“I think our movie, Fantastic Four: First Steps, to me, only speaking from my opinion, everything I witnessed and took part in, everything I felt while in the presence of the creatives on the film, I believe we are the Marvel movie of the year. I believe we are the one to watch.”Set in a 1960s-inspired futuristic world, First Steps introduces a fresh take on Marvel’s first family with Pedro Pascal as Reed Richards, Vanessa Kirby as Sue Storm, Joseph Quinn as Johnny Storm, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach as Ben Grimm. Julia Garner takes on the role of Silver Surfer, while Ralph Ineson plays the planet-eater himself, Galactus. Hauser’s role is still under wraps, which only adds to the mystery.Whether or not this film ends up reshaping the MCU, it’s clear the cast believes in it. The Fantastic Four: First Steps hits theaters July 25, 2025.
