“Heartstopper” To Conclude With A Film

Netflix has confirmed that fan-favorite coming-of-age romance drama “Heartstopper” is coming to an end, and doing so with a feature film that will shoot this Summer.

The feature will pick up after the events of the third season finale in which Nick Nelson (Kit Connor), Charlie Spring (Joe Locke), and many of their friends take their relationships to a new level.

The film asks if first loves really last forever? With Nick preparing to leave for university and Charlie finding new independence at school, the reality of a long-distance relationship begins to weigh on them and doubts soon appear.

Creator Alice Oseman will pen the film, basing it on her upcoming sixth and final “Heartstopper” graphic novel. Connor and Locke will executive produce and filming is slated to begin this summer.

Oseman says in a statement: “I am completely overjoyed that we will get to tell the end of the Heartstopper story. I’m so grateful to everyone who has worked hard to make this possible and to the incredible fans of Heartstopper for your patience and passion. I cannot wait to bring this story to a magical conclusion.”

The “Heartstopper” film is likely to release next year.
