TÜRKIYE. Leading airport food & beverage specialist BTA has established a joint venture with Fraport Group to manage dining outlets at Antalya International Airport. TAV Airports-led BTA holds a 60% stake in the new BFA joint venture, with Fraport holding the balance.
In the first phase, the partnership will manage 28 units. These include existing BTA brands such as Cakes&Bakes, Enzo, Brewmark and Taste of Anatolia by Ömür Akkor, alongside new concepts created for Antalya Airport including Flute, Sherefe, Mangia and Sweetie Treats.
The company will also provide food & beverage services in three lounges: the Premium Lounge, Elite Lounge and Arrival Lounge.
BTA Executive Board Chairman Baha Bülbül said: “We will begin operations in Antalya, the largest tourism hub in the Mediterranean, in line with the airport’s expansion project set to be completed in April this year. Antalya Airport welcomed 38 million passengers last year, of which 32 million were international travellers.
“We will offer a diverse range of options to meet the expectations of passengers from all over the world. At the same time, we will bring the rich culinary heritage of Anatolian and Mediterranean cuisine to the airport. We are delighted with our partnership with Fraport, which co-manages Antalya Airport with TAV Airports.”
Fraport Senior Vice President Denitza Weismantel said: “We have been operating Antalya Airport for more than 20 years and successfully collaborating with TAV Airports since 2018. Our new joint venture builds on this collaboration while expanding our portfolio.
“For the first time, we will now also be responsible for managing and operating the restaurant concessions at Antalya. Together with our partners, we are offering diverse culinary experiences that showcase world-famous Turkish hospitality.”
