In 1975, Cher and Elton John tried to imagine what life would look like 50 years later. Now that the future is here, fans are realizing… they kind of nailed it.
A resurfaced clip from the very first episode of The Cher Show is going viral after being posted to TikTok on Wednesday, March 26. In it, Cher, whose real name is Cherilyn Sarkisian, and the 78-year-old “Rocket Man” singer — joined by Bette Midler and the late Flip Wilson — hilariously play older versions of themselves in the year 2025.

“Elton, Elton, wake up,” the “Goddess of Pop” says to a snoozing John in the original 1975 episode, where he’s slouched in a wheelchair wearing a sparkly jacket covered in oversized sequin stars, a quilted gold lapel, striped pants, and tufts of wild gray hair.
As for Cher? She rocked a long white wig, oversized earrings, and a silky purple two-piece with beaded necklaces and exaggerated saggy cleavage. “Elton, where’s Elton? I love him, he’s my favorite!” the British artist responds groggily. Then Midler, now 79, chimes in: “Oh Elton, you silly old twit.”
The fake-future sketch ends with a classic Cher one-liner. After John asks her to turn on the TV so they can watch themselves from “50 years ago,” the Burlesque actress laughs and says, “I’m going to have you committed, you old fart.” The audience loved it — and so does the internet now.
“Them being right about the wardrobe and nothing else is the funniest part,” one person wrote in the comments section of the TikTik video.
