Black Ops Tribute event

This event runs from April 17 to May 1 and will be available across multiplayer, Zombies, and Warzone. This is one of Call of Duty's XP-based events, and the rewards are themed around the history of the Black Ops series.

New DLC weapons

As previously announced with Warzone's Season 3 roadmap, this season includes nostalgic weapons made popular during Modern Warfare 2019. The free tiers of the Season 3 battle pass includes the CR-56 AMAX assault rifle and the HDR sniper rifle. The Kilo 141 assault rifle and the Kali Stick melee weapon are included as a reward in the upcoming Return to Verdansk event.

Additionally, the Ladra submachine gun and the nail gun will arrive sometime near the mid-season.

New battle pass

In addition to the new weapons, the Season 3 battle pass also features skins for characters from previous Call of Duty games. This includes Jason Hudson from Black Ops and Mace from Modern Warfare 2019. The $30 premium BlackCell pass also returns.

Jay and Silent Bob operators

The iconic duo Jay and Silent Bob are added to Call of Duty as operator shop bundles. This includes their characters' iconic looks as well as an additional bundle variant for their comic book alter egos known as Bluntman and Chronic. These characters are suggested to arrive near the 4/20 holiday.

More multiplayer maps

Season 3 adds five more multiplayer maps, plus another 6v6 map variant. Three of these will arrive at launch:

  • Barrage: A new standard 6v6 map set in 1968 Vietnam
  • Nomad: A brand-new strike map for 2v2 and 6v6 playlists, and this map is set in the fortified ruins of a settlement in Afghanistan.
  • Firing Range: This popular map from Black Ops 1 is back in remastered form

The midseason update will add two more maps:

  • Haven: A brand-new 6v6 map set in a KGB safehouse
  • Signal: A brand-new strike map for 2v2 and 6v6 playlists, and this takes place inside a submarine bay
  • Blazetown: This is a Nuketown variant that Activision teases by saying, "light up the competition in a special Nuketown variant joining the map pool for a limited time later this season." This means this map will likely be themed around stoners and the 4/20 holiday.

More multiplayer modes

Black Ops 6 adds two familiar modes back to Call of Duty. Treyarch's Sharpshooter party mode returns, as well as the classic Demolition game mode. Both of these modes will arrive for the launch of Season 3.

Additionally, a brand-new limited-time mode called Joint Operations will arrive later in the season. Based on Activision's description, this is a stoner-themed mode likely for 4/20. The publisher says players will cycle through five game modes "under a variety of changing effects, including double health, low gravity, visual hallucinations, and third-person POV."

New perks and streaks

Close Shave is added to slot 1 as an Enforcer category perk. This perk lets players automatically use their dedicated melee attack when they perform a weapon butt attack, just like the old days of Call of Duty. This will be available to unlock as an event reward.

Vendetta is added to slot 2 as a Reconn category perk. On respawn, this perk allows players to mark their killer's last known position for a short duration. They get a bonus score for eliminating that enemy. This will be available to unlock in a midseason event.

The iconic Death Machine returns as a scorestreak. When equipped, this streak requires a score of 825 to achieve in-game. This will also be unlocked as an event reward.

A new Ranked Play season arrives

Another season means another opportunity to compete in competitive matches that follow the Call of Duty League ruleset. The season offers new Ranked Play rewards to earn, including a weapon blueprint, calling cards, and unique weapon decal.

The update also includes a new rejoin feature. Players will be able to rejoin Ranked Play matches if they disconnect. Players will now have five minutes to rejoin, and teammates will receive a reduced SR loss if a matchmade teammate rejoins and they lose the match.

Shattered Veil Zombies map

The Zombies crew arrives at Richtofen's Liberty Falls mansion to find it overrun with the undead.

Treyarch says the main story quest will go live at launch. Completing the main quest will award the "PhDeadly" operator skin for Carver, an animated Calling Card, and 5,000 XP. Just like past maps, players who complete the main quest before Directed Mode arrives for Shattered Veil will also earn a unique calling card variant.

This map introduces two new enemy types. There's an enemy called the Elder Disciple, which seems to be a variant of the Disciple enemies from past Zombies games, and a new toxic zombie variant that can explode and release acid.

Two Wonder Weapons

Shattered Veil will feature two iconic Wonder Weapons: The Wunderwaffe DG-2 and the Ray Gun Mark II.

Treyarch teases a redacted step that players can take to upgrade the Ray Gun Mark II to one of three different variants:

  • Ray Gun Mark II-W: Offering similar bullet patterns to a submachine gun, this also has a random chance to ignite enemies
  • Ray Gun Mark II-P: Shooting ammunition like a shotgun, with a chance to spawn a sigil with the ability to grant invulnerability to the player standing on it for a limited time
  • Ray Gun Mark II-R: Dropping zombies with a Marksman Rifle-like discharge, expect a chance to spread a plague infection that can inflict area-of-effect damage

New perk and augments

The Shattered Veil map adds the iconic Double Tap perk to BO6 Zombies. This perk will include six new augments to unlock for upgrading.

Additionally, Double Tap will be available to use on The Tomb, Citadelle des Morts, Liberty Falls and Terminus maps via the Der Wunderfizz machine.
