The Mars Volta confirm details of new LP ‘Lucro Sucio; Los Ojos del Vacio’

While The Mars Volta haven’t officially announced their new album Lucro sucio; Los ojos del vacio, at this point they’ve done just about everything but. They debuted it live at their first show of the year last month, supporting Deftones, and they’ve gone on to play it every night since on that run. Then, earlier this month, a reddit user claimed he was given Cedric Bixler Zavala’s personal copy of the album on CD while delivering food to him. And now, Cedric himself seems to have confirmed the album’s coming release, sharing the Instagram post of a Long Beach, CA record store, Fingerprints Music, about it in his Instagram story. According to that post, it’s due out on April 11 via Clouds Hill.

The album has also appeared for pre-order on Rough Trade and Amazon, where its description reads, “The Mars Volta’s ninth studio album represents a significant milestone for the band, which has been continually reinventing itself for more than 20 years. With Lucro Sucio; Los Ojos del Vacio, they deliver an album that celebrates their roots, allowing them to reconnect with their origins. Fans are invited to embark on a musical journey.” No singles have been released yet, but you can see the cover art and tracklist below.

The Mars Volta’s tour with Deftones runs through April, including shows in NYC (Madison Square Garden on April 3) and Jersey City (Prudential Center on April 9). See all dates below.
